In view of the current public health crisis and the progressive nature of infections passed inadvertently in large gatherings, Calvary Chapel Surprise will not meet for public worship through Easter Sunday, April. 12.
Whether the current restrictions will be extended beyond that date will be determined at a later date.
Please join us for worship and teaching from the scriptures online at CCSurprise.com. Worship services will be streamed each week at our regular service times: Saturday at 6pm, Sunday at 9am and 11am, and Wednesday at 6:45pm.
Online video gatherings for Jr High and High School students are also available. Students can join by emailing email@example.com to connect.
We look forward to meeting face to face again soon. Until then, know that the fellowship we share is not limited to our public gatherings.
Be diligent to continue to connect with your faith family members one on one. May God bless you with deeper faith and friendship even in this season of separation.
TITHES AND OFFERINGS
Tuesday, March 24, 2020
Hi CCS family,
We have received a few questions about the giving of our tithes and offerings during this time when we can't meet together at the church.
There are a couple options, first would be to give online from our CCS website or from your MyCCSurprise account. This is fairly easy to do and you can access the "Giving" tab from the CCS home page as well as from the livestream page. Here is a link ONLINE GIVING
If you would prefer to mail a check that would also be an option.
The church office is closed right now but we will have staff coming into the office on a regular basis to handle tasks that cannot be done from home. We will be checking the mail.
If you would like to send your gift by US MAIL the address is:
Calvary Chapel Surprise
15610 W Greenway Rd, Surprise, AZ 85374
We know that these are difficult times for many and we encourage you to give as you are able and as the Lord lays it on your heart.
God will not fail to provide for us all as we trust in His abundant provision.
Again, if you are in need, please reach out and let us know how your CCS family can help.
CHURCH OFFICE AND CAMPUS CLOSED
Monday, March 23, 2020
Dear CCS Family,
In order to be in compliance with the CDC and local government recommendations and with the health and well being of our staff in mind we have temporarily closed our church office and campus for the time being.
Our staff will be working from home as much as possible and will only be on campus when work must be done onsite. The front office will not be open to the public.
Please contact us via phone, email, Facebook or the contact form on this website. We will continue to serve you, our CCS family in every way we can. Thank you for your understanding.
We love and appreciate each one of you very much and can't wait until we can meet you face to face and worship together again.
Our God is good and faithful. He will see us through this crisis. Let us remember to praise Him and support one another in prayer and with helping hands as the Lord may lead us.
FROM PASTOR JOHN
Thursday, March 19, 2020
Dear CCS Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you. Your pastors and elders would like to encourage our CCS family to consider the following as we walk through this time together.
1. We desire to be under the authority of our government and to participate in the solution to the coronavirus problem. We believe our government is doing what they can to work toward solutions and we want to obey as Romans 13 clearly instructs us.
“Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.” Romans 13:1
2. May we each do all we can to incorporate safe health practices into our daily lives. Always err on the side of caution where possible.
3. We hope to do all we can as a staff and elder body to support you, our CCS family and to provide resources during this time of spiritual growth that will encourage and strengthen us all in our faith.
4. As we are faced with the many “noes” of social interaction which are necessary, may we also see the “yeses” of opportunity that God places before us. Such as, relationship building, personal growth, more reading and prayer time...to name a few.
“Behold I have put before you an open door which on one can shut, because you have a little power, and have kept my Word, and have not denied my Name.” Revelation 3:8
The door of God for His church remains open.
Opportunities will still be there, let’s discover them as we follow our Savior’s leading.
Grace and Peace to all,
RESPONSE TO NEW GUIDELINES FROM PRESIDENT TRUMP
Tuesday, March 17, 2020
Hello CCS Family! Greetings in the Name of Jesus.
We are undeniably living in a unique period in history! No doubt, you have encountered some new challenges with the unfolding events surrounding the national and local response to the Coronavirus crisis. The guidelines for public gathering and social distancing issued by the White House and subsequently echoed by the Arizona Department of Public Health now call for gatherings to be limited to 10 people. We know you have been waiting to hear how Calvary Chapel Surprise will respond to the new guidelines.
While we do not wish to give in to fear we do want to do all we can to protect the health and well-being of our CCS family and our broader community. Our desire is to be a good faith partner in our community by complying with these guidelines to the best of our ability.
With that in mind, at this time we will be suspending all events and activities at CCS for the next 2 weeks starting tomorrow, 3/18, through Wednesday, April 1st. This will include gathering on campus for Worship Services, Children’s Ministry, High School, Jr High, Bible studies, Women's Ministry, Men's Ministry, Marriage Matters, AWANA etc.
During this time, we encourage you to stay connected via the Live Stream of our Wednesday and Sunday services at CCSurpise.com/livestream. Worship and Teaching will be available to you in that format. The times for the Live Streams will be Saturday at 6pm, Sunday at 9am and 11am, and Wednesdays at 6:45pm. If you miss the Live Stream, don't worry! The streams in their entirety will be available for replay any time after the broadcast on the Media page. In addition, Online Giving is available and easy to do right from our website, CCSurprise.com.
In addition, Children’s Ministry will be posting material for parents including the weekend lessons for the children. Stay tuned for more information from the Children’s Ministry including updates on the AWANA clubs. We hope to stay current with all segments of ministry throughout this season of separation.
Please Note: This suspension of public gatherings is temporary. Having said that, we will evaluate the situation over the next two weeks and keep you informed of any developments or adjustments that may be needed beyond April 1st. Clearly, the situation is fluid and changes to public health guidelines are being revealed daily.
More communication will be coming over the next few days and weeks so please make sure to check your email and check our website for the latest updates. By the way...This would be a great time to make sure your email and phone numbers are up to date on your MyCCSurprise profiles. We don't want to miss you because we have outdated information! Connect with us on Facebook and watch for updates there too!
Let’s remember we are a family even if for the time being, we are separated. We can still pray for one another and even worship and study the word of God together online. We can approach this season as a time of new opportunity to reach out to one another in new ways. Be proactive in connecting with each other by phone, online, and face to face, one on one. Be aware of the opportunities to serve others that will be presented to us during this time of national crisis. We will all have new opportunities to “Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ” (Gal 6:2). If you know of someone in need. Be that helping hand of Jesus.
Remember: We are all in this together...and don’t forget “greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4. See you Online, heart to heart, if not face to face!
May God bless you as you bless others in this new season of opportunity!
The Pastors, Elders, and Staff of Calvary Chapel Surprise.
FROM PASTOR JOHN
Friday, March 13, 2020
Dear CCS Church Family,
This weekend I am beginning a series from the book of Revelation focusing on the fact that ‘Jesus is alive and well, and He’s coming again.’ I am excited to share this with you, realizing that in the times we are in, this fact gives Christians a living hope both now and in the future.
I want you to know that we are carefully monitoring the impact of the Coronavirus in our community and will continue to do so. We continue to encourage strong hygiene and suggest refraining from handshaking.
Our intention is to hold regular services at CCS this weekend. As we progress into next week, we will counsel with our team, and keep you informed of our intentions as a church regarding future services.
May you find grace during this time of adjustment. We are looking forward to our time of worship together this weekend, with those of you who choose to attend.
In Christian Love,
Calvary Chapel, Surprise
